Description:
  • Donated as part of the Aidan O'Hara collection, this recording was made in 1966, probably along the Placentia Bay coast near ship Cove, or on the opposite side of the peninsula at Branch. The people living in this region were mostly descendants of settlers from the southeast of Ireland, brought out by the Sweetman family of New Ross and Waterford early in the nineteenth century. Recordings were made on a portable Uher 200 Report IC reel-to-reel.
